Adobe After Effects Workshop 6 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

Adobe After Effects Workshop 6.

In this workshop we learnt how to make a showreel in After Effects, i thought that this was a good workshop as it showed another way to document your work, whether you would just want to publish it, or maybe if you wanted to present it to a company. In the workshop, we used the videos we had created in previous workshops to fill out the showreels, as then we would have something to use for it.

These are some screenshots i took whilst i was doing the showreel. We got to customise everything ourselves, like the background, the text we use, the transitions we use too. I found this workshop incredibly useful as it means that i would be able to use this when it comes to putting my own work together in a showreel rather than say just having them in various places on a website.

Physical Typography Workshop 6 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

Physical Typography Workshop 6.

This was probably one of my least favourite workshops, purely due to the amount of concentration and effort that had to be put in when doing this. We were asked to bring in a loaf of bread and then we had to make Typography out of the bread. This took a lot of patience and effort, and though it was something completely random there was an aspect of fun to it.

I managed to create every letter of the Alphabet with the bread that i brought in and also did another task which was advertising a workshop that was going to be going on at another time. So i had to make sure that i created a lot more letters and numbers and pieced them all together to make sure that the message was able to get across.

These are some of the many pictures that i had taken in the workshop and as you can see, we had to make sure that the bread was turned into readable lettering. One thing that i would change about this, is the fact that i took the pictures sat near a window so you could see light coming through in some of the pictures, but not all of them so it had a weird effect in some of them.

Premiere Pro Workshop 6 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

Premiere Pro Workshop 6.

In this Workshop instead of using Cinema 4D, we used Adobe Premiere Pro. I found this workshop quite interesting as i was able to learn things about a software that i have never used before. Another thing that i liked about this was that it helped me understand the different features that the program had, so say if i wanted to present my work, i could now use this software to do so.

This was one of the videos that i managed to create in the software and even though these aren't my images that have been used, i still think that it would be a good way to present work to somebody as it is kind of like a showreel. I also think that this way would also help you keep a sense of professionalism to the work that you made.

Abstract Typography - Workshop 5 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

This workshop was quite interesting as we had to copy letters from various forms of type and then we had to make patterns out of either the letters themselves or parts of the letters. I found this quite interesting as it was a physical project which involved things like cutting out the letters of shapes and then using paint to print them onto paper to make the patterns that we think would have gone well.

These were the outcomes that i came up with. I thought that these patterns were quite interesting as it showed that you could make things out of the letters or even just part of them. However i do think that if i had thought about what i wanted to create more, i would have been able to make more interesting and detailed designs.

Cinema 4D Workshop 5 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

This was probably my favourite Workshop of the Year, as we were using the Cinema 4D software to create a character with the software which was really fun. I didn't realise that you could do that with the software so it definitely peaked my interest. Even though it wasn't the most detailed or well made character i was still impressed with my outcome. To say i had never done work like this before i was surprised how i was able to follow the instructions easily and also make the character look as it was supposed to.

As you can see, you are able to make out the very basic features of the character, but i was very impressed with how it turned out and also that i was able to learn how to make things like this which i could include in future things that i create.

Cinema 4D Workshop 4 - Year 2 - Rhiannon Ellis.

Cinema 4D Workshop 4.

In this Workshop we created Cans and Bottles with the software so that we could put the labels that were provided for us on top of them. I found this workshop very interesting as it was something i had never done before, creating 3D objects in the software. When it came to creating them, i found it moderately easy with the guidances that we were given, i did get confused a couple of times as i'm not that familiar with the software.

When it came to the overall product that was created i was rather impressed with what i made, as i thought that the objects looked quite realistic. So i really enjoyed this workshop as it meant i had learnt something new and also could use this with future work that i may want to produce.

Self Portrait Work - Workshop 3 - Year 2.

 Self Portrait Work.

In this workshop we were originally given a print out of a picture of ourselves, which was totally unexpected.. But we got to cut out the pictures and then make them into some kind of collage that we thought would look good. After that, we then had to sketch out the collage that we created which was fun as i don't really draw a lot of the time. After that we were told we had to put our faces on the scanner and make some distorted pictures, which was absolutely mortifying for me but i had to do it. So once we got our faces scanned, we then had to make one final collage out of one of the images we made. I chose the one that i couldn't bare to look at to cut up and collage so at least i wouldn't have to see it properly again. But i really did enjoy this workshop and was proud of the work that i did in it.
